This utility charges a Customer Benefit Contribution of $1.31 for every kW DC, every month. On an 8 kW system that is $10.48 a month, about $126 a year, and your credits cannot pay it. On the Value Stack the same system would pay $0.65 per kW DC instead. The rate is reset every January and you do not lock it in at interconnection, so treat this year's figure as the start of a series rather than a fixed cost.

- $23.99 a month with the bill issuance charge, plus $1.31 for every kilowatt of panel
- Cómo se calcula
- Service Classification No. 1 sets a Customer Charge of $23.00 a month, and the minimum charge is the monthly Customer Charge plus the Bill Issuance Charge where it applies. RG&E charges $0.99 a bill for that, against NYSEG’s $0.89, which is the only difference between two sister companies filing the same tariff structure. On top of that sits a second monthly charge that exists only because you generate, and it is not in this rate schedule: New York’s Customer Benefit Contribution, $1.31 for every kilowatt DC of nameplate, every month — $10.48 a month on an 8 kW array, $126 a year. Two details decide how much that matters. It “cannot be offset by any monetary credits on the Customer-Generator’s account”, so you can net the energy side of the bill to zero and still owe this one in cash. And it is calculated on the generation nameplate alone, so adding a battery does not increase it.

Residential Phase One net metering credits exports at the full retail rate and holds for twenty years from interconnection. A Customer Benefit Contribution is charged monthly per kilowatt of installed capacity on top. Credits carry forward as bill credits.
- Full retail, locked twenty years, minus a monthly fee.
- Sign in at rge.com. Open My Account, then Billing. Open the latest bill and save the PDF. Or screenshot the summary page.
