1. Who we are
Net Metering Program (“we”, “us”) operates netmeteringprogram.com. We are an independent referral service for Florida homeowners considering rooftop solar and home battery storage. We are not an electric utility, not a government or state program, and not a solar installation contractor. This policy explains what we do with information you give us.
Contact: help@netmeteringprogram.com
2. Information you give us
When you complete the request form, we collect:
- Your full name
- Your street address and ZIP code
- Your email address and telephone number
- Whether you own the property
- Your approximate average monthly electricity spend
- The electric utility that serves you and the installer you selected
- Optionally, the age of your roof and how shaded it is
- Optionally, a photo, screenshot or PDF of a recent utility bill, if you choose to attach one
Every field is one you type or select yourself. We do not buy lists, we do not append data from brokers, and we do not enrich your record from other sources.
3. Information we record automatically
When a form is submitted we also record:
- The date and time of submission
- The page the form was submitted from
- Your browser user agent string
- Your IP address, where our processor makes it available
- The exact wording of the consent you agreed to
We keep that consent record because telephone consent law requires anyone contacting you to be able to show precisely what you agreed to and when. It protects you as much as it protects us.
4. What we deliberately do not collect
This site runs no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, no session recording, no cross-site identifiers, and no third-party analytics. We do not build a profile of you, and we cannot follow you to other websites. Browsing the site without submitting the form leaves us with nothing about you at all.
Because we run no tracking, there is nothing for a “Do Not Track” browser signal or a global privacy control to switch off. We honor those signals by not having built the thing they exist to disable.
5. Why we collect it
To do the single thing you asked us to do: prepare your inquiry and arrange a consultation with the installation company you selected. Specifically, we use it to contact you, to work through your bill and usage with you, to prepare the information that company needs, and to pass your details to them so they can carry out the consultation.
We do not use your information for any unrelated purpose, and we do not send marketing about anything other than the request you submitted.
6. Your consent to be contacted
The consent box on the form is never pre-ticked. You must tick it yourself, and until you do, the form will not submit. By ticking it you agree that Net Metering Program and the installer you selected may contact you at the number you provided, including by automated dialing systems and by text message, about rooftop solar and home battery storage.
Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. You can withdraw consent at any time, and doing so costs you nothing and affects nothing else.
7. Stopping calls, texts and email
- Text messages: reply STOP to any message.
- Telephone calls: tell us on any call, or email us, and we will record the request immediately.
- Email: reply asking to be removed, or use any unsubscribe link.
- Everything at once: email help@netmeteringprogram.com asking to be removed and we will action it within ten business days.
Once your details have already gone to an installer, that company holds its own copy under its own policy. Tell us and we will pass the request on, but you may also need to contact them directly. We will give you their contact details so you can.
8. Who receives your information
One installer: the one you selected. We do not sell your information, we do not share it with other installers, we do not pass it to lead aggregators or data brokers, and we do not post it to a marketplace where companies bid on it. If you want to speak to a different company, submit the form again and choose them.
We also rely on these service providers, which process data on our behalf:
- Google LLC (Sheets, Drive, Apps Script and Gmail) to store submissions, hold any bill you upload, and send email
- Vercel Inc. to host and serve this website
- OpenStreetMap Foundation (Nominatim) for the optional address lookup. Only the address text you type is sent, and only in order to check it and fill in your ZIP code
We will also disclose information if we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
9. Where your information is held
Submissions are stored in our own Google Workspace account in the United States. Bill uploads are held in a private Google Drive folder that is not shared or published, and the files are not publicly accessible.
10. How long we keep it
- Lead records and the consent record: five years. That matches the period during which a telephone consent claim could be brought, which is the reason the record exists.
- Uploaded utility bills: twelve months, then deleted.
- Opt-out requests: kept indefinitely, because we have to retain them in order to keep honoring them.
You can ask us to delete your record sooner. See section 12.
11. How we protect it
Access is limited to people who need it to handle your inquiry. Our storage accounts require multi-factor authentication. The website is served over HTTPS, so anything you type into the form is encrypted in transit. Bill images are resized in your own browser before upload, so the original full-resolution file never leaves your device.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your information we will tell you and any regulator we are required to notify.
12. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Give you a copy of everything we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete your record, subject to the retention above
- Stop contacting you
- Tell you which installer received your details
Email help@netmeteringprogram.com. We respond within ten business days. There is no charge, and we will not ask you to justify the request. We may ask you to confirm the email address or phone number on the record so that we do not disclose someone else’s information to the wrong person.
13. We do not sell personal information
We have never sold personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Passing your details to the single installer you chose is the service you asked us to perform, not a sale.
14. Children
This site is intended for property owners and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted the form, email us and we will delete the record.
15. Visitors from outside Florida
We currently operate only in Florida. If you submit the form from elsewhere we will tell you we cannot help yet, and we will delete your submission rather than keep it.
16. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Where a change materially affects how we handle information already collected, we will email the people affected rather than rely on you noticing.
