What your panels offset is the distribution charge: 6.886 cents a kilowatt hour on the first 600, rising to 8.671 cents above 600 from June through September, and 6.886 cents throughout from October through May. Set against that is a Distribution Charge Adjustment, printed in the tariff as a credit of 1.416 cents on the first 600 kilowatt hours and 1.783 cents above 600 in summer. Read that one carefully before you build it into a payback estimate: the same leaf says the Company may "modify or eliminate the monthly adjustments in order to avoid the surcharge" at the end of the twelve month period. It is a discount that can be withdrawn, not part of the rate.
