With solar, imports and exports net month by month, but the Stranded Cost Charge, the System Benefits Charge and the Storm Recovery Adjustment Factor are billed on all the electricity you import. The stranded cost charge is currently negative, a credit of 0.722 cents, so on that one line gross billing works in your favor. A month’s net surplus is credited as dollars at default energy service (15.835 cents), plus transmission (5.548 cents), plus 25 percent of distribution (6.611 cents): about 23.0 cents, against the 28.74 cents a kilowatt hour you pay to buy. No credit is given for the System Benefits Charge or the storm factor. A credit balance above $100 on 31 March can be paid out in cash, and any balance is paid when you move or stop service.
