It keeps the same $8.40 customer charge and lowers every energy rate, so qualifying cuts the bill but also cuts what each displaced kilowatt hour is worth. Arkansas has closed net metering to new systems. Legacy Net-Metering Service survives as Rate Schedule No. 52, effective 31 December 2023, and new solar goes on the Solar Energy Purchase Option instead, Option A or Option B by agreement. The two are mutually exclusive — SEPO “is not available to Customers taking service under Legacy Net-Metering Service” — so which one you are on is decided when you interconnect and is not a thing you switch between later.
